Kitchen Remodel Sequence Before Holiday Guests in Winter Garden and Windermere
Sep 3, 2026
If you want the kitchen in Winter Garden or Windermere usable by Thanksgiving, the sequence matters more than the backsplash tile. Cabinets, counters, and floor have to land in the right order or you cook on a fold-out table through December.
What has to happen first
Demo and layout. Then cabinets, because most of these kitchens are getting a floating floor and the boxes have to sit on the slab. Counters after the cabinets are set. Floor after the boxes if it is click-lock. Backsplash last. Appliances after the openings are real, not estimated.
What can wait until January
A second island seating change. A lighting package that is still on backorder. A pantry built-in that is not on the cooking path. Holiday guests care about a working sink, a working range, and a floor you can stand on. They do not care about the leftover paint sample in the laundry.
Central Florida timing
Winter Garden, Windermere, and the nicer Clermont-area neighborhoods book fall remodels first. Lead time on cabinets and quartz is the usual delay, not the labor. We lock those dates before we pull the first door. Hurricane season is still on the calendar in September, so outdoor work and roof-adjacent openings get a weather plan.
How long the kitchen is down
A tight refresh with the same footprint is days, not months. A full gut with new boxes and a moved sink is weeks. We will not promise Thanksgiving if the stone is not on a truck. We will tell you that in week one.
Next step
Tell us the date you need the range back on and whether the cabinets stay. We will put the sequence on one page so you can see what makes Thanksgiving and what slips to January.
